The Rev'd. Mike Bond
Associate for Youth Ministries

mdbond1990@gmail.com

Since being ordained to the Vocational Diaconate, Deacon Mike has served at Christ the King Episcopal Church, Lansing IL, Brent House Episcopal Chaplaincy at the University of Chicago, Rockefeller Chapel at the University of Chicago and now at Saint John the Evangelist.  He also served on the Bishop’s Staff for eleven and a half years for Bishop Donovan, Bishop Persell and Bishop Lee.  Deacon Mike has also served at the diocesan level in youth, young adult, campus ministry, and with Camp Chicago as an assistant spiritual director volunteer 15 years and on the leadership team as the spiritual director for 5 years.

He has come to understand that his passion for formation and spiritual direction with our younger members stems from his own formation and natural curiosity.  Deacon Mike says, "I think it is important to get our young people engaged in working out their thoughts and relationship with God and Jesus Christ.  And to recognize how and when the sacred enters into their lives."
