For more than twenty years, St. John the Evangelist has partnered with South Suburban PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) to help provide hospitality, compassion, service, and dignity to men, women, and children experiencing homelessness. Our volunteers participate with other member congregations in the Emergency Shelter Network to provide warm, secure overnight lodging, meals, and hospitality during cold weather months from October 1 through April 30 each year.
The St. John's Team is looking for volunteers to help staff sites located at:
Flossmoor Community Church
4th Monday each month, from 5am - 7am
The Episcopal Church of the Holy Family
Tuesdays, from 5pm - 7pm
St. Lawrence O'Toole
4th Saturday each month, from 5am-7pm
4th Friday night each month
If you think you might be interested in volunteering, or would like more information, please contact our PADS Coordinator, Laura Brady.
